She shares her own experiences and the two ultimately decide to continue on their trek.Īt Chloe’s memorial, Zeke isn’t able to speak to her. Michaela can relate to his feelings of guilt and pain because of what happened to her best friend. He’s never had the guts to visit the memorial up on the mountain, which is exactly what he had been trying to do. He wasn’t paying attention and she wound up falling in. When he was fifteen, he had agreed to take her up to a ravine but wound up taking a phone call from a girl. What had he done wrong? Zeke holds himself responsible for killing his sister. She realizes that they need to be looking at the vision from his point of view. Sadly, they don’t find any answers to the calling but instead experience it again. Upon finding the cave, Michaela is sure to take plenty of pictures to send to Ben.

Eventually, he relents but says once they’re done he’s leaving. When they share another calling, she pushes him again to take her there so they can figure this all out. However, Michaela isn’t going to allow that to happen. As expected, Zeke is ready to take off and just become a footnote in this story. Luckily, he doesn’t get that far before she’s able to track him down. Already thinking the worst, Michaela rushes back to find the cabin abandoned. Apparently, his younger sister Chloe had died up on the mountain. At the store, she finds a missing poster and the cashier explains his own theories behind Zeke’s disappearance. They banter briefly before Michaela goes to grab some supplies before they set out. After some gentle prodding from Michaela, he agrees to take her back to the cave. The calling includes Zeke’s voice telling the two to “go back”. Some of the passengers have shared similar callings but none of them have been together in them. While Manifest may have skimped on the CGI in this scene, it’s interesting to see these two share such an intriguing bond. When she grabs him, the two share a dual calling. After getting frustrated due to Michaela asking questions about his family, he goes to storm off.
He won’t be able to escape his destiny no matter how hard he tries though. She promises to stay safe and find out more about Zeke on her own. He also seems to forget that Michaela is an actual detective who’s more than capable of handling sticky situations.
They don’t know anything about Zeke and he finds it suspicious their new friend hasn’t asked to contact friends or family. Michaela decides she’s going to stick around as well rather than head back to the city right away.īen jumps into big brother mode and immediately thinks Michaela is in over her head. Why should he believe two strangers who just showed up on his cabin steps? Naturally, he declines an invitation by Ben to meet with Saanvi since he’d rather stay in the cabin. Unlike the passengers, Zeke went hiking by himself and has no one else to relate to this time jump. Manifest seems to have officially expanded its love triangle into a square. Matt Long does a great job throughout this episode, especially because his scenes could fall apart if Zeke and Michaela didn’t have chemistry. “Cleared for Approach” spends a large portion of the hour getting to know our latest time traveler, Zeke. The previous episode dropped a big bombshell on viewers: Flight 828 was not an isolated incident. Let’s get to know Zeke on this week’s Manifest.
